State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), which is the criterion-referenced assessment program that has been in place since 2003. STAAR™ includes the 12 end-of-course (EOC) assessments mandated by SB 1031 in 2007 and the new grade 3–8 assessments mandated by HB 3 in 2009. The new tests will be implemented in the 2011–2012 school year.

STAAR Resources:

The information below contains a message from our Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Randle, on the new STAAR testing program.

District and Campus Ratings

Lamar CISD is a Texas Education Agency Recognized district. For the final list of LCISD campus ratings and Gold Performance Acknowledgements, click here.

For the complete list of 2011 district and campus ratings from the TEA site, click here.

Lamar CISD Accreditation Status

Per House Bill 1 of the 79th Texas Legislature, all Texas school districts are additionally rated based on their performance under the state academic accountability and financial rating systems. Districts that meet or exceed the expectations for student and financial performance as defined by the commissioner, are considered as being ‘Accredited’. Districts that fail to meet these one or both of these expectations would be considered as ‘Accredited-Warned’ or ‘Accredited-Probation’, per Texas Education Code 39.051 and 39.052.

Currently Lamar CISD meets and exceeds these academic and financial requirements and is considered Accredited with a 2011 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) rating of Superior Achievement. The current district accreditation report can be viewed by clicking here.

LCISD District Accountability Performance Report

Texas Education Code §39.306 requires that the Board of Trustees of each district publish an annual report describing the educational performance of the district. This report includes: district and campus performance objectives, the district’s AEIS report, special education compliance status, a report of violent and criminal incidents occurring on each identified campus, as well as the procedures and policies the district is using to protect students. Below (the LCISD District Improvement Plan, School Accountability (AEIS) Reports, and the Campus Safety Report) are the components of this report.

District Improvement Plan (DIP)

School Accountability Reports (AEIS)

Accountability reports contain detailed information about schools in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Annual reports are prepared in compliance with the federal and state regulations. Accountability reports are used by teachers and administrators as they develop academic plans to increase achievement of all students.

Current and prior year AEIS reports are available for viewing on this website:
