Become a Volunteer
September 26, 2011
Volunteering in Lamar Consolidated ISD has never been easier. Anyone who wants to volunteer in any capacity—whether you work full-time, part-time, or stay at home—can find a way to make an impact in our district. Below is an easy how-to guide to becoming a VIPS (Volunteer in Public Schools) at LCISD!
Any parent, guardian, or grandparent of a child who is enrolled in the school for which you want to volunteer will now simply have to present their identification and register to volunteer through Raptor, our district-wide campus security system. Not only does this system ensure the safety of all of our students and staff, but it also tracks volunteers and their hours.
All other volunteers, mentors, tutors or any individuals who are not a parent, guardian or grandparent of a child in the school for which you are applying to volunteer must complete an online volunteer application, which includes a criminal history check. The volunteer application is located on the LCISD website, www.lcisd.org, under the Schools tab. Once you are notified that you have been cleared to volunteer, you will simply have to sign in with Raptor, wear your badge, and upon leaving, sign out to make sure your volunteer hours are recorded.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a campus volunteer registration form and return it to your campus Volunteer Coordinator or front office. The campus volunteer coordinator will contact you to discuss ways in which you can make an impact in LCISD.
Please contact Parent Involvement Facilitator Jill Duban at 832.223.0335 if you need further assistance.
